Badri and Salim El Meouchi LLP wins in a groundbreaking decision of the Appellate Division of the QFC Court!

Our client was granted the permission to appeal and awarded the appeal sought after the First Instance Court judgement was reversed.

This decision raises issues of general importance in the State of Qatar concerning the duties of former employers in relation to the change of employment of an ex-employee and the transfer of sponsorship to a non-QFC entity, as well as to the approach that a Court should take to proving damages in contract and on the law relating to judicial bias.

This success is a testimony of our experience in litigations where it is important to master Qatari and QFC laws as well as common law and practices. Our firm received this mandate in the middle of the First Instance court proceedings and undertook an extensive analysis of the various immigration and employment laws, regulations and practices of both the Qatar and the QFC legal regime to bring this case to a successful close.
