Banking and Finance/Islamic Banking and Finance
Our banking and finance practice, one of the founding activities of the firm over 100 years ago, is one of the most developed and diverse in the region, and includes our securities, insurance and project finance teams.

Between conventional and Sharia compliant banking and finance, there are countless alternatives to raise capital in the Middle East and beyond. This choice is only enhanced by the presence of various financial centres, including the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), the Dubai International Financial Centre, and economic centres such as Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Intimately involved in some of the most recent Islamic compliant issuances and deals across the region, our Islamic Banking and Finance group has developed a strong reputation for harmoniously reconciling the needs of a modern-day marketplace with the desire to follow the rules of Sharia.

Our securities experience includes advising on the creation and structuring of funds, private placements or offerings, public listings, regulatory issues (both local and international), and so forth.

Our clients in the Banking sector include some of the Middle East's leading banks, and the world's largest banks frequently consult us for their activities in the region. As well as taking care of their day-to-day requirements, we help them structure sophisticated products and have had extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions of banks.

We have assisted clients in major financing deals in many different sectors, as well as with public listings, offerings and issuances in regional and global markets.

Our Banking and Finance group has a strong experience in insurance and reinsurance.

Furthermore, we have been regional pioneers in Kyoto Project Financing, helping our clients leverage the green value of their project to help with its financing.
